In short

## Consulting for insurance companies

Stage is a Brazilian strategy, experience and technology consultancy. In insurance, we work with **insurers, brokers and distribution platforms** on three fronts: operational efficiency (operating model, processes and capacity), broker and policyholder experience (portals, journeys and customer service) and technology (integrations, automation, data and AI).

Every project starts with an immersion in the operation: interviews, shadowing and measurement of times and volumes. It ends with the change implemented, whether a new policy issuance flow, a portal or a regional structure. We have done this in operations spanning from one to 11 countries at once.

Challenges we solve

## Where Stage usually comes in.

Recurring problems in the sector and how we tackle each one, with strategy, experience, technology and data.

Challenge 01

### Slow issuance and rework across departments

Requests pass through many hands, documents are duplicated and brokers cannot see the status. We redesign the flow with Lean, assign owners and automate documents.

Lean Processes Automation

Challenge 02

### A structure out of step with volume

We measure times and volumes by activity and calculate the ideal capacity for each department, with initiatives prioritized by FTE freed up.

Capacity Right size TOM

Challenge 03

### A different operation in each country or unit

We designed a common target operating model, with global processes, a service catalog and an implementation roadmap by country.

TOM Governance Latin America

Challenge 04

### Brokers and policyholders stuck with email and spreadsheets

Self-service portals, insurer integrations and CRM flows so that quoting, issuance and renewal run without friction.

Portals Integrations Salesforce

Challenge 05

### Actuarial data scattered across spreadsheets

A data lake connected to legacy systems, with layered processing and real-time visualization for closing and analysis.

Data Data lake BI

Challenge 06

### New businesses, spin-offs and mergers

From value proposition to separation PMO: governance, processes, culture and structure so the new operation starts running smoothly.

Real projects, with the numbers measured in each one.

[All insurance cases](https://stage.consulting/en/cases#seguros)

Chubb Insurance Strategy Technology

### Lean issuance: fewer steps from quote to policy

We redesigned the issuance process with Lean and Agile: fewer areas involved, a single process owner, a single invoice to the broker and automation of the quote letter and policy specification.

Mercer Marsh Benefits Insurance Strategy Data and AI

### One operating model for 11 Latin American countries

We harmonized the regional operation based on the TOM and global processes: a new model by client segment, a right size calculator, a service catalog, a roadmap by country and the new structure implemented in Mappu.

Wiz Insurance Experience Technology

### Client portal for policies, renewals and new insurance

For Wiz Corporate, the group's B2B arm, we created the portal where companies view policies, renew and purchase insurance, plus Salesforce flows and integrations for the sales and operations teams.

Marsh Insurance Strategy Data and AI

### Optimal capacity for operations, claims and fiduciary (P&C)

Benchmark with four brokers, shadowing with analysts and time measurement to define each area's capacity and a roadmap of initiatives by impact and effort.

Optinsure Insurance Strategy M&A and finance

### Spin-off of AON's middle market portfolio

We supported the creation of Optinsure from strategy to operation: value proposition, spin-off governance and PMO, mission and culture, processes and a new organizational structure.

Marsh Insurance Strategy Technology

### Simplified Placement Center: manual tasks moved out of sales

We mapped Portfolio Solutions, Multinational and Retail to move operational activities to hubs, and automated the assembly of the Property comparison chart.

Distribution and experience

Insurance

## Protection that reaches more people

Only 29% of vehicles and 17% of homes are insured, according to CNseg. Closing this gap requires simpler products, digital distribution and brokers with better tools. That is where strategy, experience and technology need to move together.

How we work

## A typical project, phase by phase.

The same method as our operating model projects, scaled to the size of the challenge.

4. Phase 04

   ### Implementation

   6+ weeks

Wave follow-up, training, support materials and adjustments until the change sticks.

FAQ

## Frequently asked questions about insurance

### What is a TOM (Target Operating Model) in insurance?

It is the design of the target operating model: which activities each department performs, with how many people, in which systems and with which metrics. At Stage, the TOM combines three pillars: Right Model (frictionless processes), Right Size (a structure without idle capacity) and Right People (the right profiles for each role).

### How long does an operational efficiency project take?

A typical cycle has four phases: immersion (4 to 5 weeks), design and validation (6 to 7), gap analysis and roadmap (4 to 5) and implementation (6 weeks or more). Multinational projects, such as Mercer Marsh Benefits in 11 countries, take longer.

### Does Stage work with brokers or only with insurers?

Both. Our cases include a global insurer (Chubb), global brokers (Marsh and Mercer Marsh Benefits), a distribution platform (Wiz) and the creation of a brokerage through a spin-off (Optinsure).

### Do you implement the technology or only recommend it?

We implement. The same team that designs the process builds portals, insurer integrations, automations and Salesforce customizations, and supports the rollout until the change holds.

### How does Stage measure results?

We set the baseline during the immersion (time per activity, volume, FTE and SLA) and compare it after implementation. The metrics are agreed with the client at the start of the project.
